Navigating the Tennessee Smokies
We know navigating new towns and regions can sometimes be tricky. Use this guide to get around on the Pigeon Forge and Gatlinburg Trolleys, and take the worry out of your vacation!
Pigeon Forge Trolley Routes
Trolleys run throughout Pigeon Forge with service expanded to many locations in Sevierville from 8:30 a.m. until midnight from early March–October and from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. in November and December; closed Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. There are over 100 locations that you can board a trolley. Just look for a trolley shelter or a trolley bear sign, and a trolley will be arriving shortly. Main Street trolleys run every 20–25 minutes. Wears Valley trolleys run every 40–45 minutes. Dollywood and Dolly’s Splash Country trolleys run every 15–20 minutes. Gatlinburg Welcome Center trolleys run every 25–30 minutes. These times may vary due to traffic flow during peak tourism days, car shows and holiday weekends.
Trolley drivers cannot make change, so please have exact change ready when you prepare to board a trolley. For additional information on routes, schedules or a handicapped-equipped vehicle, call 865-453-6444.
North Parkway 50¢
This trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels north through Pigeon Forge and continues into the city of Sevierville. After traveling north to the Governor’s Crossing & Wal-Mart areas, it turns south again and returns to Patriot Park.
South Parkway 50¢
The South Parkway trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels north to traffic light #6 then turns westbound onto Pine Mountain Road. The trolley goes as far as the Mainstay Suites before returning to the parkway. This trolley then travels to the south city limits serving campgrounds in the area and the Dixie Stampede before returning to Patriot Park.
Gatlinburg Welcome Center 75¢
This trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels non-stop to the Gatlinburg Welcome Center on the spur just outside of Gatlinburg then returns to Patriot Park. The hours of operation of this trolley are subject to the schedule of the Gatlinburg’s city trolleys.
Dollywood 50¢
Dollywood Trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels to and from Dollywood continuously. The trolley runs 30 minutes before Dollywood opens and in the evening until everyone is returned to Patriot Park.
Dolly’s Splash Country 50¢
Splash Country trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels to Splash Country and returns to Patriot Park.
Wear’s Valley 50¢
The Wear’s Valley trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels north on Teaster Lane through the Belz Mall/Riverview Mall area to traffic light #2 on the parkway. The trolley then proceeds to Community Center Drive, McGill Street and onto Wears Valley Road where it services area campgrounds and other businesses as it continues westbound to the Pigeon Forge city limits before returning to Patriot Park by the same route.
Courthouse Route 50¢
The Courthouse trolley leaves Patriot Park and travels north on Teaster Lane passing through the Belz Mall/Riverview Mall area then enters the Parkway northbound at traffic light #2. It continues north into downtown Sevierville before turning around at the Sevier County Courthouse. Featured stops include Tanger Five Oaks Mall, Wal-Mart, Kmart and the River Place Shops.
Gatlinburg Trolley Routes
You can board our trolleys at more than 100 locations throughout the city. Anywhere you see the Street Trolley sign, you’re just minutes away from climbing aboard. The Gatlinburg trolleys are color-coded by route. Look for the signs posted on the front and sides of each trolley to ensure you are on the correct route. Please have exact change for trolley fare. This route serves the free Gatlinburg Park-N-Ride lot and Gatlinburg Welcome Center located on the Spur/Highway 441 between Gatlinburg and Pigeon Forge. During its regular schedule, it departs every 15–20 minutes from the Park-N-Ride lot south through the entrance to Gatlinburg and along the Parkway, ending at Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5 in downtown Gatlinburg. During the winter, it departs approximately every 30 minutes.
RED (Downtown River Road) 50¢
The Red Trolley Route runs from the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center south on River Road to the Parkway then north on Historic Nature Trail/Airport Road by the Gatlinburg Convention Center to Park Vista Hotel. The trolley continues down Cherokee Orchard Road to Baskins Creek onto Stephens and Newton Lane and then enters onto the Parkway at traffic light #6. Regular schedule departures are approximately every 20 minutes, and winter schedule departures are approximately every 30 minutes.
YELLOW (Arts & Crafts Community) $1.00
This delightful mini-trolley services the famous Great Smoky Arts & Crafts Community. Trolleys can be boarded at the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5. This trolley makes the entire eight-mile Glades/Buckhorn Loop. Please note: this route takes approximately one hour to complete. It may be as long as one hour before the trolley returns to each pick-up and drop-off point. One fare provides unlimited access all along this route, which is available daily April through December.
TAN (National Park) $2.00
The National Park trolley runs June through October and departs from the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center at approximately 9 a.m., 10:30 a.m., Noon, 2:30 p.m., 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. It runs up River Road onto the parkway and into Great Smoky Mountains National Park. Stops include the Sugarlands Visitor Center, Laurel Falls Parking Area and Elkmont Campground before returning to Gatlinburg. The trip lasts about 1.5 hours. Fare includes round trip.
PINK (Dollywood & Pigeon Forge) $1.00
The Pink Trolley offers convenient access to Dollywood. This trolley departs from the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5 approximately every 45 minutes, with stops in Pigeon Forge at the Dollywood Information Center on Parkway and the entrance to Dollywood. Dollywood drop-offs coincide with the park’s opening time each day, and pick-ups run 1.5 hours after the park’s closing time. From November until late March, the Trolley runs only on dates when Dollywood is open. On dates when Dollywood is closed, the Trolley runs to the Dollywood Information Center on an alternate schedule. Fare is $1.00 each way.
BLUE (East Parkway & City Hall) 50¢
The Blue Trolley serves the free Gatlinburg Park-N-Ride lot located next to City Hall on East Parkway and offers convenient access to shops, lodging and attractions. The route begins at the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center at traffic light #5 approximately every 25 minutes and runs along the Parkway to East Parkway then to the Gatlinburg Community Center before it returns to the Mass Transit Center along the same route. It departs approximately every 30 minutes during its winter schedule.
GREEN (Downtown Parkway) 50¢
The Green Trolley Route runs from Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center up Cherokee Orchard Road to Park Vista Hotel, continues down Historic Nature Trail to Parkway and travels south to M&O, River Road and Ski Mountain Road, and then travels north on Parkway to the Gatlinburg Mass Transit Center. Departures are approximately every 20 minutes.
