From the plains of Africa to your own backyard, the Virginia Zoo has a world of discovery waiting for you. Open year round, we deliver family fun, education and excitement for everyone.
Meet elephants, lions, kangaroos, meerkats and more. Go nose to nose with prairie dogs in their interactive habitat where viewing bubbles allow you to get up close and personal with these entertaining creatures. Take a ride on our Zoo train. Explore the gorgeous gardens or splash in our fountains on pretty days. Don’t miss any of the perfect photo ops – including our popular rhino and tortoise statues that kids love to climb. It’s an adventure for the entire family!
The Virginia Zoo is located at 3500 Granby Street, Norfolk. We’re open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily (except Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day). Admission is only $8 for adults, $6 for children ages 2 to 11 and $7 for seniors 62 and over. Children under 2 and Zoo members always are admitted free.
